Mark Sommer has been working as an Economist in the WIFO Research Group "Environment, Agriculture and Energy" since 2012.
He is expert in macroeconomic multisectoral modelling and the linkage thereof to the energy system. He is involved in projects
under the Austrian Climate Research Program as well as the Anniversary Fund of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank. From 2010
to 2012 he was employed as a research assistant at the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change in Graz. He received his
Master's degree in Environmental Systems Sciences with key area on Economics at the University of Graz (2013) and the doctoral
degree at the TU Wien (2020). Mark Sommer published articles in international journals such as Ecological Economics and Economic
Systems Research. His key research area is energy, emissions, renewable energy technologies, circular economy and the associated
material flows using economic models (Extended or Econometric Input-Output Models as well as CGE).
