Im Jahr 2023 konnten sich die österreichischen Exporteure trotz schwieriger globaler Rahmenbedingungen gut behaupten und Exportmarktanteile gewinnen. Für 2024 und 2025 prognostiziert das FIW ein preisbereinigtes Exportwachstum von 2,2% bzw. 3,2%. Das Kompetenzzentrum "Forschungsschwerpunkt Internationale Wirtschaft (FIW)" veröffentlicht seinen fünften Jahresbericht zur "Lage der österreichischen Außenwirtschaft". Neben den aktuellen internationalen Rahmenbedingungen präsentieren die Autor:innen eine Prognose der österreichischen Außenhandelsentwicklung für die Jahre 2024 und 2025 sowie eine modellbasierte mittelfristige Einschätzung, wie sich die Handelsbeziehungen innerhalb der wirtschaftlich und politisch mit den USA verbündeten Volkswirtschaften bzw. des "China-Blocks" sowie zwischen diesen beiden Ländergruppen bis 2028 entwickeln könnten.

FIW Annual Report. Austrian Foreign Trade 2024
In 2023, Austrian exporters were able to hold their own and gain export market share despite difficult global conditions. For 2024 and 2025, the FIW forecasts price-adjusted export growth of 2.2 and 3.2 percent respectively. The "Research Centre International Economics (FIW)" publishes its fifth annual report on the "State of Austrian Foreign Trade". In addition to the current international environment, the authors present a forecast of the development of Austrian foreign trade for the years 2024 and 2025 as well as a model-based medium-term assessment of how trade relations within the economies economically and politically allied with the US or the "China bloc" and between these two groups of countries could develop by 2028.
