Washington, D.C.: WIFO Economist Klaus Friesenbichler at International Bar Association

At a conference organised by the International Bar Association in Washington, D.C. on "The International Commerce and Distribution Landscape: new tensions and restrictions along the global supply chain", WIFO industrial economist Klaus Friesenbichler took part in a discussion on the panel "Perspectives on supply chain risk management".

At the international event, high-level representatives discussed the legal implications of the recent recurrence of supply chain disruptions. Friesenbichler outlined various sources of risk for international value networks. He then discussed trade policy developments. On the one hand, the increase in international sanctions has changed existing trade patterns. On the other hand, regulations such as the EU Corporate Sustainable Due Diligence Directive have an impact on the risks of international business activities. Companies have several tools at their disposal to manage these risks
