Oliver Fritz is Senior Economist at WIFO and has been working in the Research Group "Structural Change and Regional Development"
since 2001. He is also working as a lecturer at the University of Vienna, the University of Graz and the University of Applied
Sciences Burgenland and is Affiliate Professor at the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory of the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign (USA). Since 2009 Oliver Fritz has been serving as Executive Secretary of the International Input-Output
Association, a globally operating scientific organisation located in Vienna. Being involved in numerous national and international
research projects (funded by State and Federal Ministries, the European Commission, the European Parliament, etc.), his current
fields of research and policy consulting include tourism economics, regional economics as well as input-output and Computable
General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling at the regional level. Oliver Fritz has received a Master's degree in Economics from the
University in Graz and both a Master's and doctoral degree in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Before joining WIFO in 2001, he worked at the Institute of Technology and Regional Policy of Joanneum Research and at the
Regional Economics Applications Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
