Energy efficiency and EU industrial competitiveness: energy costs and their impact on manufacturing activity (CR 2014)

The European Commission is preparing a new framework for its policies on energy and climate change for the period up to 2030. In support of this process, the study provides comparative analyses of the relative energy costs amongst EU member countries and their international trading partners, as well as the content and efficiency levels in key manufacturing sectors during the past two decades with a view to identifying future trends in production and energy efficiency strategies. The project is part of the WIFO-led Framework Contract and provides one of the background studies for the European Competitiveness Report 2014. It is conducted in cooperation with wiiw.
