The WIFO-Monatsberichte (monthly reports) contain research results and publications by WIFO staff on national and international economic developments based on sound economic analyses. Die Konjunktur schwächt sich infolge der hohen Rohstoff- und Energiepreise weltweit ab. In Österreich stagnierte das BIP im III. Quartal 2022. Die Exporte und die Wertschöpfung in der Sachgütererzeugung sanken. Trotz der leichten Entspannung auf den Energiemärkten blieb die Inflation auch im Oktober hoch. Der Arbeitsmarkt ist hingegen bislang noch nicht von der Konjunkturabschwächung betroffen.

Austria's Economy in the Wake of the International Economic Downturn
Economic activity is weakening worldwide as a result of high commodity and energy prices. In Austria, GDP stagnated in the third quarter of 2022. Exports and value added in manufacturing declined. Despite the slight easing on the energy markets, inflation remained high in October. The labour market, however, has not yet been affected by the economic slowdown.
