Die Ergebnisse der WIFO-Investitionsbefragung lassen für 2022 eine breit getragene Ausweitung der Investitionen erwarten. Dieses Investitionswachstum dürfte vor allem von Unternehmen in den Branchen Information und Kommunikation, Verkehr und Lagerei, den freiberuflichen, wissenschaftlichen und technischen Dienstleistungen sowie den sonstigen wirtschaftlichen Dienstleistungen getragen werden. Großbetriebe dürften ihre Investitionen dabei stärker ausweiten als kleine und mittlere Unternehmen. Die Investitionstätigkeit wird vor allem durch die Nachfrage und technologische Entwicklungen getrieben. Am häufigsten werden Ersatzinvestitionen als Investitionsziel genannt, wobei 2022 Kapazitätserweiterungen an Bedeutung gewinnen dürften. Für Österreichs Gesamtwirtschaft rechnet das WIFO für 2022 mit einem realen Anstieg der Bruttoanlageinvestitionen um 4,0%.

WIFO-Investitionsbefragung (Investment Survey) of Autumn 2021
The results of the WIFO-Investitionsbefragung (investment survey) suggest a broad-based increase of investment in 2022. This investment growth is likely to be driven by companies in information and communication, transport and storage, professional, scientific and technical activities, as well as administrative and support service activities. Large companies are more likely to expand their investments than small and medium-sized companies (SMEs). Investment activity will be driven primarily by demand and technological developments. Replacement investments are the most frequently cited investment target, with capacity expansions likely to gain in importance in 2022. For Austria's economy, WIFO expects gross fixed capital formation to increase by 4.0 percent in real terms in 2022.
